Three projects prepared by faculty members of our department have been awarded funding under the 2026 POLAR (KUTUP)-1001 call conducted by TÜBİTAK ARDEB. These projects, developed with the objectives of generating original scientific data, strengthening international collaborations, and enhancing Türkiye's scientific visibility in polar research, will commence following the completion of the contract processes.
Supported within the framework of the Turkish National Polar (Antarctic/Arctic) Science Expeditions organized under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and coordinated by the TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute (PRI), these projects demonstrate the expertise of our faculty members in polar sciences. It is anticipated that the interdisciplinary research approach, carried out in collaboration with researchers from ITU and other universities, will contribute to Turkey's scientific output and international visibility in polar research.
